Ninad Ahmed is a spectacular volunteer! For about 18 months, Ninad has been the most consistent retail support in our Detroit Robot Factory (other than our very own retail manager, of course).
EVERY SATURDAY, Ninad drives to the Eastern Market from Sterling Heights to run his three hour shift. He makes the trek in the best and worst of weather conditions, even when there are several inches of snow on the ground. Most recently, he ran the store during the 826michigan Bot Trot, arriving at 7:45am on a Sunday morning, and staying late after the event ended to engage with runners and guests. For the first few months of his tenure, he even walked down the block on days when passersby to our storefront were few to personally invite folks in to learn about our mission.
He’s even an enthusiastic supporter of 826 on his days away from the Detroit Robot Factory, as evidenced by the stunning picture shown above. He’s prominently wearing a DRF t-shirt–on just a most beautiful, sunny day.
