Summer Programs — The Teaser!

May 26, 2011 | 826 Blog Post

Just wanted to check in on our clever and illustrious summer programming plans. While I can’t say this post will have a LOT of specifics, where there are specifics to be had, they will be, um, had (by you). Deal?

As I type this, Catherine and I are hard at work lining things up, scheduling things, assigning people to things, and other things. We’ll have tons of off-site programs, as ever, at Community Action Network sites, with Avalon Housing, and at both branches of the Ypsilanti libraries. We’ll be helping out with summer schools for both Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. We’ll be, as ever, busy.

Okay. Specifics that are to be had:

Drop-in Writing! We’ll be offering more drop-in than EVER. For example: Twice a week at the Ypsi libraries, and it is looking very much like FIVE times a week at 826! (Twice a week for the wee-b0ts, ages 6-7 [times to be determined]; and three times a week for 8 and up.) Regular drop-in will happen Monday nights from 6-7pm, Tuesdays in collaboration with our friends from FLY Children’s Art Center (part art! part writing!) from 3-4:30pm, and Thursdays from 3-4:30pm. Drop-in Writing at 826 starts the week of June 20.

Workshops! The Summer Workshop Schedule will be posted next month, and it begins on June 20. More on that soon!

Furthermore: Robot Art Fair! Shakespeare workshops! The planets! Transplant camp! Ozone House! Adult workshops! All of this and more! Stay tuned for the full schedule, friends, forthcoming.
