826michigan Open House & OMNIBUS 3 Book Release Party
115 E. Liberty Street, Ann Arbor
5pm to 7pm, free and open to the public
Ever wanted to find out just what happens behind the red curtain at Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair? Or find out how 826michigan utilizes its hundreds of volunteers in local public school classrooms? Or figure out why the organization has such an unusual name?
Come learn more about 826michigan’s programs, meet the staff, and shop for robots. Celebrate with the student writers, ages 6 to 18, published in 826michigan’s third annual compendium of writing, and hear some of them read their selections. Poems, stories and essays by school-aged students are published in the OMNIBUS 3, with an introduction by author Phil Stead (A Sick Day for Amos McGee, winner of the 2011 Caldecott Medal), who will attend with his wife Amos illustrator Erin Stead.
