NPR Features the Boggs School in Detroit

January 15, 2014 | Press

The James and Grace Lee Boggs School, a charter school on Detroit’s east side that opened last September, was featured this week on NPR’s State of Opportunity. The piece focuses on third-grader Christopher Gaston, one of the school’s most involved, motivated students. Christopher is an excellent example of the Boggs School’s mission in action: a combination of the desire to change his neighborhood for the better and the pure excitement for education that can supply the skills to do so. 826michigan is honored to have been mentioned in this wonderful piece about a brand new school providing students with the means to create a better Detroit.
