826michigan is able to offer free writing and tutoring programs to more than 3,200 students across Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Detroit because of the tremendous generosity of individuals and the enthusiastic support of businesses throughout all three communities. Alley Bar is one such business.
This year, Alley Bar has selected 12 local nonprofits and charities to receive a whopping 10% of all Thursdays proceeds for their month of honor through an initiative titled #GiveBackThursdays. 826michigan was selected to benefit from each Thursday in May. So, on May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26, from 7 – 9 pm, you’ll be able to find an actual informational table inside of the Alley Bar-—where you can sign up for information on how to volunteer, check out some of the publications written by 826michigan students, and enjoy a beverage within to support 826michigan’s work.
