It’s unanimous: the thing we like most about Sarah Smarch is that she comes through when no one else does. She sees a need and jumps in. When she’s around, you never get to the place where you find yourself screaming, “Um-OH-MY-GOODNESS-
Take Revenge of the Book Eaters, for example. We couldn’t have pulled it off without her. She was the one who came forward in the eleventh hour and did every little thing that needed to get done. When I asked Amanda about it, she looked at me, very seriously, and said, “You have no idea how much she did for Book Eaters. It was crazy.”
If you’re thinking that Book Eaters was in October, you’d be right. Well then, you might ask, why wasn’t she Volunteer of the Month for November? Dear reader, we have so many examples of Sarah’s indispensability that she could’ve been VotM just about every month since the spring.
Her “The 7ft Woman from Ohio Roleplaying Game” workshop proved that not only could she come up with a ridiculously fun way to create a character, but that she also looks pretty cute as a man. She has great ideas. She’s incredibly creative. She asks a lot of questions that I very rarely know the answers to. She’s a natural redhead. She’s kind to everyone. And I’m pretty sure she never sleeps, because she is way too busy for something so banal.
Sarah Smarch. She’s smarvelous. She’s a smiracle. She’s heard all those jokes before, so I’ll stop.
