Just What IS the Love Hangover?

Please join us this weekend for our first-ever (and surely not to be our last) Love Hangover. This is a unique benefit show indeed. Local musicians are pairing and grouping together in unusual ways to perform angsty love songs the day after Valentine’s Day. Teaser? You got it. Songs that will be covered include: Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around, Kiss from a Rose, Eternal Flame, and Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing. Also being covered? Loretta Lynn, Husker Du, Elliott Smith, and Rufus Wainwright. Have you ever heard a cover of Careless Whisper that includes a spoken-word performance of a Missy Elliott song in the middle of it? THIS IS YOUR CHANCE, because it’s happening, at least as far as we know, ONLY at the Love Hangover.

It all goes down at Hathaway’s Hideaway, 310 S. Ashley, a few doors south of the Fleetwood, this Sunday night. Doors are at 7pm, the show starts at 7:30. Admission is $10, 18 and up.

This year’s line-up includes members of local bands Frontier Ruckus, Pop Project, Canada, Black Jake & the Carnies, and more, as well as usually-solo(ish) acts like Jim Roll, Chris Bathgate, Charlene Kaye, Annie Palmer, and Pat Elkins. Hope to see you there!
